Salary Range: £68,000-£90,000
Location: Chiswick, London - Hybrid 2 days in office

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Lead – Analytics Engineering & Insights to lead the next phase of maturity in our analytics function. This role is critical in enabling the business to move beyond reporting toward decision-grade analytics, underpinned by trusted data models, consistent metrics, and scalable insight capability.
You will be responsible for leading the Analytics Engineering function - scaling curated facts, dimensions, and metrics, while also enabling the wider analytics team to generate insights that directly inform business decisions. Acting as a multiplier for our Data Science capability, you will ensure experimentation, forecasting, and analytical insight are grounded in robust, reusable data foundations.
Working closely with Product, Operations, Finance, and Technology leadership, this role bridges data engineering, analytics, and decision-making, ensuring analytics outputs lead to real-world action.

What you’ll be getting up to in this role:
Analytics Engineering Leadership
Lead the design and scaling of curated data models, including facts, dimensions, and metrics
Own analytics engineering standards, documentation, and review processes
Ensure consistent and trusted metric definitions across the organisation
Oversee Looker semantic models and ensure reporting is built on robust foundations
Insight Enablement & Decision Support
Enable scalable insight delivery by embedding experimentation and analytical thinking into the analytics team
Act as a bridge between Analytics Engineers and Data Scientists, ensuring insight work is well-framed and grounded in trusted data
Support forecasting, experimentation, and decision-support initiatives without becoming a delivery bottleneck
Ensure analytics outputs are decision-focused and actionable
People & Capability Development
Lead, coach, and develop Analytics Engineers, supporting progression from BI to analytics engineering and insight work
Identify and nurture individuals with the potential to grow into advanced analytics or insight-focused roles
Create clear career pathways and learning opportunities within the analytics function
Stakeholder Partnership
Partner with Product, Operations, Finance, and Technology leaders to prioritise analytical work
Translate business problems into structured analytical approaches and data requirements
Act as a trusted advisor on metric interpretation and analytical confidence
Governance & Quality
Ensure analytical outputs meet quality, consistency, and governance expectations
Promote best practices around data integrity, metric trust, and responsible use of analytics
You’re a great match if:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Strong experience in analytics, analytics engineering, or advanced BI roles, with exposure to decision-led analytics
Proven leadership experience managing analysts or analytics engineers
Strong SQL and Python expertise and experience designing dimensional data models (facts, dimensions, metrics)
Experience working with cloud data platforms (Google Cloud preferred)
Experience owning or contributing to semantic layers and BI tools (eg. Looker)
Strong understanding of experimentation concepts (A/B testing, hypothesis testing, causal thinking)
Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at senior levels
Desirable Skills
Experience operating in a product-led or operationally complex environment
Familiarity with forecasting, experimentation frameworks, or applied statistics
Experience scaling analytics capability through standards, templates, and playbooks
Exposure to data science workflows and collaboration with Data Scientists
Understanding of modern data operating models (Analytics Engineering, Metric Stores, Semantic Layers)
