The Role
Head of Metering at SO ENERGY
Reporting into our Customer Operations Director 👋, we’re looking for a Head of Metering to join the team.
The Head of Metering is responsible for So Energy’s metering function.
This includes our smart meter roll out and engagement, our metering operations – installations, maintenance and ensuring we are able to bill our customers accurately. This role also manages our third party metering asset and service providers.
The role is a part of the Customer Operations leadership team and has a key impact on our cost to serve and customer experience performance.
The Head of Metering acts as a focal point for regulatory obligations in the metering space.
What you’ll be getting up to:
- Strategic oversight of all the metering operations within So Energy
- Managing the entire metering operation, including teams responsible for meter installations, replacements, and repairs
- Effective operational management of key external partner relationships including meter installers and industry bodies
- Responsible for regulatory standards across metering as defined within industry codes
- Leading the implementation of smart meter programs
- Negotiating contracts with Meter Asset Providers (MAPs) and other third party providers
- Maintain close collaboration and clear communication with internal departments to ensure the right decisions are made in the interests of our customers
- Own weekly and monthly reporting of Operational Performance against KPIs and maintaining of KPIs within their team
- Using your operational experience and business acumen, resolve key operational issues
- With your natural leadership skills ensure that So Energy is a great place to work with high standards of behaviour and professionalism
Stakeholder management – senior leaders, industry, regulators and third parties
This role will be a great fit if:
- You have strong operational experience driving efficiencies and change in a scaling B2C business
- You understand and have experience of leading a metering team within an energy supplier
- You possess strong leadership skills with a passion for motivating and developing your team
- You can lead your team through change in a dynamic and changing energy landscape
- You have strong contract performance and commercial skills to ensure our third parties perform and our contracts are commercially robust and optimal
- You are reliable, methodical and constantly looking for ways to improve process with a focus on customer experience
- You are capable of leading and delivering new projects
- You have an eye for data and have strong data analysis capabilities
- You are results orientated and able to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced industry
