Interview Process: From Application to Offer
Below is a timeline of the interview process you would embark on.
Interview Process
Application
Once you have found a role that you would like to apply for you will need to complete an application. You will need to upload a CV and answer a handful of questions. Check out our section on how to make a great application for tips. Why not upload a video to really stand out? Every application is reviewed by a human being so bear with us. We aim to get back to every application within 5 working days
Behavioural & cognative assessment
To create a more equitable process we don't just look at a person's previous experience we also consider their potential. To do this we have partnered with AssessFirst, a Behavioural and cognitive assessment platform. For more details check out our page on AssessFirst
Talent interview
In a lot of cases, your first interview will be conducted by a member of the Talent team. In this interview you will be asked about your previous experience, what interested you about the role and what is most important to you about your next role. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask us about So Energy. Popular questions include: how would you describe the culture? How does this role contribute to the business's objectives? What is a typical day in this role like? Within 5 working days of the interview, a member of the talent team will be in touch to let you know the outcome.
Competency based interview
Depending on the role there may be one, two or even three rounds of competency-based interview. Each interview will assess a number of competencies that are provided in advance. You may also be asked to deliver a short presentation. If this is the case then the team will provide you a presentation briefing at least 5 working days before your interview. To continue to deliver an equitable process and combat any unconscious bias every one of our interviews is conducted with a Gender balanced panel. If you want to know more about how to nail your competence-based interview head here.
Technical test
For some of our more technical roles we may ask you to complete a technical test. This could be a take away coding exercise or a live exercise during an interview. We will never spring this on you and you will be provided all the relevent infomation and time you need.
Offer
YOU DID IT!
If you are successful the team will reach out to you within 5 working days of the final interview stage to present your offer and this will be followed up in writing. We will discuss the role, the salary, benefits and potential start dates.
Feedback
If you are unsuccessful at any stage of the process the Talent team will reach out to you either via email or phone to provide feedback. In turn, you will receive an email shortly after, asking you to provide feedback on the interview process.
