The Role
Our People (HR) Business Partners support business functions with all people related matters in an approach that is consistent and in line with our values. The People Business Partners are passionate about creating a great employee experience, are the face of the People Team for our Energists, our leaders and are approachable, clear and honest - supporting through all elements of the employee lifecycle.
As a People Business Partner at So Energy you will become a Subject Matter Expert in the business units you’re partnering with, through the help of data and reporting provide consultative advice to its leadership, acting as an agent of change, being a coach, an advocate and a critical voice.
You will be responsible for building organisational and people capability, plan and manage talent and develop departmental approaches to achieve organisational objectives and create high performing business area. Acting as the departmental people expert implementing specific people approaches that deliver against our people plan and wider company objectives.

What you’ll be getting up to in this role:
Agent of change, support and guiding business leaders and people managers with strong, generalist HR support to ensure compliance and an employee experience in line with our values.
Support the business areas in robustly managing performance and developing high performing teams through continuous performance practices including supporting ER cases and providing development opportunities for our highest talent.
Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management to solve employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion to full resolution.
Lead people related meetings such as grievance and disciplinary hearings, liaising with legal counsel when required to ensure compliance. Compile investigation, disciplinary, grievance and flexible working request outcomes.
Be an advocate for data driven decision making and utilising data via our HRIS to provide you with insights to support your conversations and drive stakeholder decisions.
Communicating, influencing and consulting with stakeholders in a way that is impactful, leading by example.
Lead on employee engagement and action planning with your stakeholders.
Supporting through performance cycles including participation rates and leading the calibration sessions for your areas.
Support the wider People Team to implement people strategies that support our business aims.
Assist business areas and Head of People Partnering with talent and organisational when required including recruitment, secondments and organisation design.
Demonstrate people experience in the way you carry out your responsibilities, ensuring we foster a culture that is values-led and in line with our behavioural framework.
Through the support of your manager, work with ESB colleagues to create alignment and strengthen our partnership demonstrating the value of better together
You’re a great match if:
Previous experience in an HR Business Partner or HR Manager role
Strong HR generalist background
Strong Experience in leading complex employee relations issues
Experience of implementing initiatives to execute against a people strategy e.g. employee engagement, salary review, performance management and renumeration annual processes.
Change management experience
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across different functions and at all levels of the business
Project management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team, collaborating with a centre of excellence
Strong knowledge of employment law and employee rights
Expertise in data and analytics
Proven record of developing strong relationships with stakeholders
Proactive and able to adapt to change
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Experience implementing HR policies and procedures
Values driven and customer centric approach
CIPD Level 5 Qualified or above
