Meet our Energists 👋

  • I joined So Energy in 2021 as a Customer Care Advisor and have since built an exciting and varied career, moving through the Social Media Team, Learning & Development, and now thriving in our Governance Team as Internal Control Assurance. I live with dyscalculia, a neurodivergent condition that makes working with numbers challenging. For me, numbers can feel like they’re dancing around, making it difficult to read and process them. My team’s and manager's understanding and accommodating approach, from learning from mistakes to providing practical adjustments like letting me review number heavy presentations in advance has allowed me to excel and feel confident in my daily tasks. Beyond my role, I contribute to So Energy’s Neurodiversity, LGBTQIA+, and Women’s Affinity Groups, helping to foster a supportive and inclusive environment across the business. My story highlights how So Energy adapts to Energists' strengths, enabling everyone to thrive.

  • What I enjoy most about working at So Energy is the refreshing, people centred culture where my voice is genuinely heard and valued. Coming from a small sole trader background, joining a larger company was a big shift, but the shared values and inclusive environment here have made it an exciting and empowering experience, especially as a woman in leadership. Since joining as Head of ECO, my role has grown more than I ever expected. I’ve deepened my industry knowledge, engaged directly with Ofgem and DESNZ, taken part in development opportunities like the Circl coaching programme, and been trusted to lead my department with real autonomy. Collaborating with teams across the business has also strengthened my perspective and impact. What truly makes So Energy special to me is the strong support system, especially from our People Partners and Learning & Development team. Their commitment to our growth and well-being is exceptional. Combined with the flexible, non-corporate atmosphere and genuine sense of shared purpose, it’s a place where I feel I can thrive and belong.
